How your zodiac indication might guide you on your next experience in North Wales when the Astrotrip starts

Millennials are turning to the stars for where to go this season as lockdown releases and length of stay increase.

“Astrology” searches for everything from dating to travel have hit a five-year high, according to Google Trends.

In a difficult, data-driven time, many young people seem to find solace in the zodiac, even if they don’t exactly believe in it.

“At a time when insecure consumers are looking for a more mindful experience that involves mind, body and soul, activities around spirituality and all heavenly things are very attractive,” said Laura Saunter, senior insight strategist at trend forecasting company WGSN.

To help you on your next outing, we ask the astrologer Arianrhod of Gwynedd for her recommendations:

Aries (March 21st – April 19th)

Qualities: Dynamic, courageous and confident.

Rams are fearless speed freaks with limitless energy and a thirst for adventure. So consider flying over an old slate quarry in Blaenau Ffestiniog (zipworld.co.uk) on one of the fastest zip lines in the world.

Alternatively, you can spend the night on a portaledge that is in the air high on the cliffs of Anglesey (gaiaadventures.co.uk).

Taurus (April 20th – May 20th)

Qualities: Determined, patient and luxury loving.

Bulls are always in the mood for great food which is why you should check out Wales’ Pantry – Anglesey.

From upscale restaurants and farmers markets to bistros and beach cafes, you’ll find them all on this famous foodie island.

As they are often referred to as the salt of the earth, be sure to visit the Halen Môn Visitor Center to learn more about their world famous spices (www.halenmon.com).

Gemini (May 21 – June 20)

Qualities: Intellectual, youthful and lively.

Your bubbly mind means that you enjoy learning. There are seven national museums here in Wales that cover every aspect of Welsh history in great detail. Visit the National Slate Museum in Llanberis (museum.wales/slate).

The quarry’s huge Victorian workshop tells the gripping story of how this blue-gray rock changed the landscape and its people.

Cancer (June 21 – July 22)

Qualities: Emotional, romantic and careful.

You are high on the list of zodiac concerns and would benefit from blue therapy. For a touch of coastal tranquility, try Llanddwyn Island in Anglesey (visitanglesey.co.uk).

A walk through the nature reserve leads to a wildly romantic place, a tidal island with its own lighthouse and shrine of St. Dwynwen, the Welsh patron saint of lovers.

Leo (July 23rd – August 22nd)

Qualities: Generous, enthusiastic and artistic.

As a creative being, you love art. And here in North Wales you will find a diverse selection of works by local and world famous artists. For rural splendor, visit Oriel Ffin y Parc near Llanrwst. It is considered to be one of the best commercial art galleries in the country.

Her latest exhibition shows Sarah Carvell’s landscape paintings. Before leaving, visit the hotel’s café for cakes and great views of the Conwy Valley.

Virgo (August 23rd – September 22nd)

Qualities: Modest, practical and hardworking.

The virgin is traditionally referred to as the harvest goddess and is often associated with gardening. As a would-be horticulturist, you will learn a lot by visiting Bodnant Garden (bodnant garden.co.uk).

Overlooking the Conwy Valley towards the Carneddau Mountains, it was founded in 1874 and developed by five generations of a family. It offers beautiful flowers, impressive Italian-style terraces and lush lawns.

Libra (September 23rd – October 22nd)

Qualities: Charming, indecisive and peaceful.

Lovers of beauty, heritage, and harmony, Libra is often drawn to pretty places like Plas Newydd, Anglesey. This elegant house on the banks of Menai Street houses one of the largest collections of Rex Whistler’s work, a military museum and a beautiful garden. Another interesting National Trust treasure is Erddig near Wrexham (national trust.org).

Scorpio (October 23rd – November 21st)

Qualities: Magnetic, powerful and passionate.

Conwy may be small, but he is great at haunted, which will appeal to your supernatural side.

In Conwy Castle, ghost hunters are said to have recorded a ghostly voice from the afterlife, while in the Elizabethan townhouse Plas Mawr (cadw.gov.wales) there are tragic stories from the past.

Sagittarius (November 22nd – December 21st)

Qualities: Honest, philosophical and freedom-loving.

Some of the world’s greatest explorers and travelers were Sagittarius. Your fiery energy and spirit of adventure will enable you to scale Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales. Each of the six official summit routes offers sensational hikes and incredible views.

Capricorn (December 22nd – January 19th)

Qualities: Ambitious, disciplined and practical.

Workaholic Ibex can be easily chained to their desk, but a trip to an old castle can be delightful. Located on a headland between two beaches, Criccieth Castle is a scenic visit.

The original building was built by Llywelyn the Great, then expanded by Edward I, and finally set on fire by Owain Glyndwr (cadw.gov.wales).

Alternatively, you can always see Llandudno’s famous goats.

Aquarius (January 20th – February 18th)
