Meegan will get versatile with online yoga business-- The Isle Of Thanet Information

Margate yoga teacher Meegan Bradley has taken control of her life

By Jodie Nesling

When Margate yoga teacher Meegan Bradley closed her business during the initial lockdown, like many others she turned to the internet to give classes.

However, since then the entrepreneur has started a new business after signing up for several training courses.

She said, “There was an attempt to go beyond a zoom class or two and do something that could fit into my life. I’ve met people from all over the world and learned so much.

“I essentially started a new company. It was great, but also very difficult. I drove at 1,000 miles an hour. “

Meegan started hot pot yoga at Margate House five years ago and worked hard to build the business.

But the lockdown forced the popular studio to close, and then came the devastating news that her supporting landlady, Lana Vanzetta, had tragically died after falling out of the building.

Grants do not cover current rent and there are numerous bills to be paid.

Meanwhile, Meegan suffered two devastating miscarriages.

Meegan has written openly about her IVF trip and suffered the trauma of two miscarriages in four months last year – shortly before Christmas at the latest, which marks the end of a heartbreaking year.

She said, “I felt pretty out of control with hot pod and fertility. The new business is something I could feel in control of. “

Though the studio lacks physical space, online membership has proven to be a hit with people from Thanet and beyond.

Meegan has also developed an eight-week course for beginners. She said, “When I went to my first grade, I was scared because I am not the traditional yoga body and I am not very flexible either – you don’t have to be. I was pretty open about my problems. I had eating disorders. In my 20s and 30s, I hated the way I looked. I thought, “I don’t want this to go into my 40s.”

Yoga is a lifestyle for every ‘body’ and affects every aspect of mental and physical well-being. I’m proud and comfortable now, showing my stomach, my boots, and shaking my bum!

Membership includes a comprehensive package of both recorded and live content. She also has guest speakers such as Thanet Wanderers Physio, Monique Boorman and Ramsgate yoga teacher Ross Duttson.

“It was great to connect with everyone around the world. I now have a teacher from Texas and one from New York,” she said.
